My family has had a relationship with the Ovens Valley spanning several generations. Returning from military service with the Australian Light Horse, my Grandfather moved to Eurobin to bring up his family. My grandparents both worked and lived at the Rostrevor Hop Farm for the duration of their working lives. Another uncle operated the local service station (now the Caltex) that also doubled as the Ford dealership in Bright. This was where my Dad leant his trade, later establishing the Peter Saines Motor Workshop in Churchill Avenue with my Mum. My Mum grew up in what was formerly the Temperance Hotel located next to the old Porepunkah Bridge. Famous for its amazing gardens which were open to the public, sadly now only the wishing well remains. I was born at the the Bright Bush Nursing Hospital and grew up in our family home on the banks of the Ovens River where my Dad still lives today.
Graduating from Bright P-12 College, I then completed further studies in office administration at RMIT Melbourne and returned home to work alongside a local Solicitor. My husband (also a local – nearly, having grown up in the Buckland Valley) and I purchased our first house in Cobden Street. We were married at the Saines family church in Eurobin and then began our family. Having walked just across the road to the Bright Hospital to deliver all three babies, we are now a family of five. All three kids are currently attending Bright P12 College. Eight years ago, we made the big move from Bright CBD to beautiful Wandiligong . We feel grateful every morning to wake up surrounded by this amazing area and what it has to offer.
As a qualified legal secretary with over 20 years’ experience in book keeping and office administration and having worked across a number of industries, the first thing I noticed when I joined the Dickens team was the welcoming vibe that radiates from the staff. I instantly felt welcome and at home. I am very fortunate to be a part of such a great team. I look forward to assisting our clients on their real estate journey and I am excited for what the future holds for Dickens Real Estate.
